DEVERGES JONES, CEO

DeVerges Jones is a growth strategist and has an MBA from Cornell University Johnson School of Management with a major in marketing and managerial economics. In 2013 he received the Wilbur Parker Distinguished Alumni Award from the Cornell Johnson School. DeVerges also has a BA degree from Morehouse College and studied international business at Columbia University.
 
Jones has had a broad background in consumer products, food service, hospitality, fast food as well as other product industries. He comes equipped with Fortune 500 best practices expertise from Kraft GF, PepsiCo, Mars, Inc., Philips and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Jones has managed many iconic billion-dollar brands including Pepsi, Maxwell House, Country Time Lemonade, Log Cabin syrup, Herbal Essence, Lady Clairol, Burger King, Kodak, ATT Communications, Pedigree and Whiskas pet food, Philips and Pentel pens. DeVerges has had success in domestic and global markets. His diverse background in business has allowed him to understand many different types of consumers and a myriad of traditional and digital trade channels. He is skilled in strategic planning, product launch optimization, advertising, marketing research sales planning, P&L management, operations planning and infrastructure. This expertise has provided him with great skills in deploying the right resources to address corporate goals.
 
Jones has worked with and managed advertising account teams for GREY Advertising, Ogilvy and Mather, Y&R, Saatchi and Saatchi, Ketchum PR, DMBB (US and London), Bates (London), Lintas (Mexico).  During his career he has been directly involved in Clio, Effie and CEBA awards for advertising campaign excellence. He also is an astute executive in relationship to the bottom line. In that vein he has been a key member of two major turnarounds resulting in recovering over 100 million in profits. In his career he has always leveraged sponsorships to extend brand messaging and engagement. In this area he has worked with the US Olympic Committee three times, Pepsi Music marketing campaign with Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie and Menudo, USA Basketball Dream Team, USTA Women’s Tennis, Breast Cancer research, Major League Baseball, World Cup Soccer, Young Astronauts Association and NASCAR.
 
More recently he has been involved in smaller companies and start-ups in various areas including food and beverage, health and beauty aids, advanced technology and software. In addition to having a vast general audience background he also has had much success in driving product, promotional, PR and advertising efforts against multi-cultural and ethnic consumers (Hispanic and African American).
 
He has been a member of the Cornell Johnson School Marketing Mentorship Program, Member of C-Level Partners, Advisor to Wayfinder the UCI Beal Applied Innovation Incubator ,Judge at the UCLA Anderson School Project Echo business competition, EIR at Chapman University, Guest Speaker and Panelist at USC Marshall School of Business and for five years he was on the Board of Directors of Pretend City the Children’s museum of Orange County. In his career he has been featured on TV representing Pepsi, Philips and Mars, Inc.
